湖北村所在的員山大湖地區，擁有優良的自然環境資源，是生產、生活、生態緊密結合的農村聚落。社區活動中心是人與人交流、人與環境對話的場域。本案以社區客廳的想法為核心，紅磚、抿石子、大斜屋頂等建築語彙對外展現農村特色，對在地居民是生活中親切熟悉的日常質感，容易親近。
入口正面的大出簷熱切的迎接到訪，不僅是室內活動的延伸，也提供多雨的宜蘭全天候隨時可停留的空間，促進鄉民日常交流。
The Hubei Village Community Center, in the resource-rich Yuanshan Dahu area, is designed as a "community living room" that blends local life with the natural environment. Architectural elements like red bricks, washed aggregate, and large pitched roofs showcase rural character to visiting guests while providing a familiar aesthetic for locals.
A prominent entrance eave offers a welcoming, all-weather sheltered space, ideal for the rainy Yilan climate, encouraging daily social interactions and community bonding.
